NEW & REVISED FAIR RULES for 2010
as of July 2010
PLEASE READ!!!
1. Two Bucket Rule at night: The Snohomish County 4-H Horse Program has elected to mandate a 2 bucket rule for every horse at night. This means, you are required to have 2 water buckets hung in the front of your stall with water every night at bedtime. You are welcome to keep both buckets in your stall during the day as well, however, some of you prefer not too. You will not be counted down in Herdsmanship for this during the day, but certainly will lose points at night if you do not have 2 buckets.

2.

A herdsmanship board will be up at the main office for all to see. Each club will have their club results posted daily on the board. For 2010 we are making Herdsmanship a bigger competition with more prizes to win than ever before, not to mention the amazing traveling trophy you could be sporting for your club!

3.
Hoof Black - Messy black hoof paint - all over the newly remodeled fairgrounds is not an option. All leaders need to provide safe clean options for your club members that choose to use hoof black / clear. Exhibitors MUST use cardboard or something o keep the paint off the property, and it must be done out of the aisles. This is an Evergreen State Fairgrounds Rule - which states we will not deface the property. Please be sure your horse stays on the cardboard untilt he hoof is dry, avoiding dripping of the polish into the ground.

4. Dress Code:  Remember that there is a 2 finger minimum rule in regards to the width of girls tank top straps. No midriffs, and loc cut tops are not allowed. Shorts should be mid-thigh in length or to the tip of your middle finger when your hands are at your sides and no shorter. Shoes - Absolutely no open toes shoes in the barns.
Leaders will be required to tell parents to leave the barns if the proper shoes are not worn. This is for safety. Exhibitors violating these rules are subject to loosing their premiums.

5. Emergencies on the Fairgrounds: If there is an emergency on the grounds during Fair, that requires Fire or Paramedics
on scene, an announcement will be made to exhibitors to stop where they are until the trucks get to their destination on the grounds. Classes will resume while they are on the grounds. When the trucks are ready to leave the grounds, another announcement will be made to have you again, stop where you are and wait until the trucks are safely off the grounds. If your class is coming up and you are trying to get to your destination but cannot due to the nature of the emergency (i.e. the accident has blocked you from being able to get to your stall or horse) please come to the main show office and let someone know so we can make arrangements for a gate hold. You are responsible for letting us know you need a gate hold.
