In an effort to avoid raising show fees and also to raise funds to enable the Snohomish County 4-H Horse Program to continue to provide activities, several new procedures will be implemented at the Fall Show at the fairgrounds:

1. Participants will both bed and strip their own stalls and the majority of the proceeds of the stall fees will go to the county program.

2. One club will be responsible for collecting stall reservations, assigning stalls, having staff on hand to assign stalls during the show, doing a night check and checking out stalls at the end of each day.

3. There will still be the opportunity to pay an additional $15 stall stripping fee, which will go to the Club doing the stalls.

4. Participants, of course, will continue to be responsible for keeping their stalls properly cleaned during the show.

5. Patterns will continue to be posted, however, a copy of each pattern will be available at the Show Office for $1 each.

6. Those desiring duplicate numbers will be able to purchase them at the Show Office for $1.

Chaps are NOT allowed in Equitation or Showmanship Classes

  • Horses in Western Performance Classes may now be ridden in a snaffle bit and ridden with two hands. This includes Walk/Trot, Novice, and Regular.

  • Green Horse Classes and aged Green Horse Classes are now combined. Classes offered will be Beginning Green Horse and Green Horse (Horse of any age, only Intermediates and Seniors may show a horse 5 years old and under.)

*****CHANGES BEGINNING WITH SUMMER 2009 PERFORMANCE SHOW*****

DISCIPLINE RAIL - The Discipline Rail Classes have been combined. In the past we have offered separate classes for the regular equitation riders and the medals equitation riders but these classes are now combined.

INTRO TO  MOUNTED TRAIL -  'Intro To Mounted Trail' was developed and voted on by the Youth Forum membership, to be a 'non-ribbon' placing class, that is, participants will receive a danish but no rosette ribbon. This is a class for a rider with a horse that is new to ridden trail and is designed to be moved through relatively quickly!
